Melancholy for Megs Garden

Hope your Christmas Eve is wonderful. I am back again with a layout featuring the gorgeous Meg's Garden French Garden Collection.  I chose the beautiful Le Jardin paper from the collection to make my base, using some gorgeous cut outs from the cut and create paper.

For this layout I chose a modern photo of my gorgeous younger daughter Aisling! She hates to get her photo taken, so I find I scrap my elder daughter more for sheer numbers of photos I have. I wish Aisling would let me take her photo more, but this is often the face I get, or the back of her head as she runs away!! I still think she looks beautiful though, even with this sad face.

Above you can see the photo cluster set on a base of a 15cm Paper Doily, using the cut outs from the Cut and Create paper as layers as well. I have used the Extra Long Filigree Vintage Trinket, cut in half and placed in two areas on my layout. The gorgeous ribbon came from the Temptations in Green bundle that Meg offers! Here you can also see the Meg's Garden Paper Lilies and Pink and Cream Open Paper Roses.

This second flower cluster show the gorgeous butterfly I cut out from the A4 Butterflies Transparency. The butterfly is perched on the gorgeous Ivory Poppy and I again used the Extra Long Filigree Vintage Trinket and Pink and Cream Open Paper Roses.

For my background I used a mask and modeling paste to add texture then added mists for color and splatters. I added a script stamp to the background then finished it off with some stitching around the edges.

I love how the layout turned out and hope you enjoyed having a look, the French Garden papers are just stunning!!

Dream Card for La-La Land Crafts

This week at La-La Land Crafts the theme is Anything but Christmas! I wanted to showcase the gorgeous Garden Bench Die so I found a great vintage image of a girl sleeping on a chair! I fussy cut around her and she looks perfect sleeping on my bench. I decided to build a garden around her using some Petaloo flowers and many of the gorgeous roses using the Rolled Rose Large Die and Rolled Rose Small & Medium. I added some leaves using the Open Leaf Flourish die. I added a bird in my garden using the Birds Die and the Tim Holtz "dream" sentiment. I added some twine loops and stitching to finish it off.

I really hope you enjoy my little card!!

Winter Beauty for Berry71bleu

This month at Berry71bleu we have a Winter Chill Mood Board Challenge! Here is a look a the beautiful moodboard that Mandy created for us:

This challenge is about celebrating the breathtaking array of fresh fallen show and ice that is abundant this time of year. Whether you are a snow bunny or prefer to sit inside by a fire, we want to see how you cope with the winter chill!

This month we were sponsored by GeckoGalz and I chose a beautiful vintage image from the Snow Babies Digital Collage page and some of their gorgeous Winter Wonderland digi papers!  I distressed the edges of the vintage image and added some sewing in pink thread to accent the image.  I took several of the digipapers and tore the edges and used them as a base layer to my photo.

I added lots of stamping, splashes, molding paste and masking and fun accents like microbeads and sequins to my page. I rarely use a white background, but thought it would be fitting to showcase the digi papers and reflect the winter chill!! I added some gorgeous flowers and some fun arrows to my design and finished off the layout with a bit more sewing around the edges. I hope you enjoy my layout and I thank you for stopping by to see it!

I cut out the image using the Stitched Nested Circles.  To decorate my candle I used lots of gorgeous La-Land Crafts dies!! I made some gorgeous poinsettias with the Pretty Poinsettia Die. I added the Holly Flourish Die and Ornate Snowflakes, tucking in a few red roses for a pop of color. I added a bit of red bakers twine to finish it off.

Snowflake Challenge for La-La Land Crafts

This week at La-La Land Crafts the theme is Snowflakes! I decided to use one of La-La Land Crafts beautiful 3D Kits, the Birdhouse Kit.

I covered the gorgeous birdhouse in papers from Riddersholm Our Country Christmas, adding a gorgeous snowflake banner from the Snowflake Banner Die.  To add to the vignette I cut out three of the Fancy Christmas Tree Die to make a 3D standing tree in front of my birdhouse! I also added the Picket Fence Die.

To finish off my little scene I added in some festive berries and pine cones and a sweet little resin bird. I just love how this turned out and really appreciate you visiting me!

Noel Layout for C'est Magnfique Kits and Riddersholm Designs!

I'd love to share my vintage layout I have done for C'est Magnifique's December Kit. The papers featured this month are the gorgeous Riddersholm Our Country Christmas papers. I have found a gorgeous vintage image of Santa and some children. I chose two gorgeous papers from the collection and distressed and tore the edges, layering a red paper over the neutral colored focal page.

I have misted the Holiday Vine from Blue Fern Studios in Lindy's Wake Me Up Before You Go Gold.

I added some stickers from the Main kit and also used some molding paste and a mask from my stash to add pattern and texture to the background.

I have used the chalkboard paint and Silkes paint to color the Noel chipboard. The flowers are gorgeous Prima and Petaloo flowers from the December Flower Add On.

I really love vintage layouts and enjoyed creating this one! More to come from this kit very soon!

Holidays are Coming Challenge for La-La Land Crafts

This week at La-La Land Crafts the theme is Holidays are Coming!

As you know, I love to use vintage images on my cards, it is my favorite style!! So when I make cards for La-La Land Crafts, you just might see me using them!! I found this gorgeous Christmas image online and had to use it.  I took the Fancy Christmas Tree Die and cut it out twice, layering it and making it three dimensional.  I cut the Snowflake Banner Die twice and cut apart the snowflakes adding them to the background and as embellishments to the card. I colored a small snowflake in gold and added it as a star to the top of my tree.  I took the tiniest of the Stitched Nested Circles and made a few pretty little ornaments for my tree. To finish off the card I used the Scalloped Banner Die to make a snowy festive bunting. I added a simple sentiment to my photo.

The papers I used for the card were the gorgeous Our Country Christmas papers from Riddersholm, A bit of Snowtex and some stitching and twine finish off my card.

My Favorite La La Land Product!!

This week at La-La Land Crafts the theme is Our Favorite La-La Land Product!

The first La-La Land die I fell in love with even before I joined the DT was the gorgeous Hot Air Balloon Die ! I just love it!! I paired it up with the Steampunk Heart Cogs for a romantic steampunk themed card. I added a Prima flower and some gorgeous Rolled Rose Small and Medium and Rolled Rose Large Die roses.

The papers I used for the card were the gorgeous Fall Flea Market papers from Riddersholm, I love that there is a subtle quote about flying on the paper at the bottom of the card (you have to look hard!) I added some stitching and a sentiment as well as a twine bow to finish it off.

Skater Boys: A Layout for Meg's Garden

I am here today with  another project using the gorgeous The Sherlock Book Kit by Watson by Meg's Garden!!  I decided to make a layout with mine using the book pages and amazing ephemera provided in the kit!

For the background 12 x 12 inch page I used the The Gentlemen Collection: Gentleman paper. To me, in the Sherlock Book Kit there was a lot of masculine ephemera, many using new inventions for the turn of the century and one even looking like a globe...which reminded me of the Worlds Fair... I tucked that into the layout here and decided to use this amazing photo I have in my family collection of my Great Great Uncle Leo at the St. Louis World's Fair in the early 20th Century. Roller skating was being demonstrated there as a possible entry into the Olympics. Leo and his buddies looks so cool posed here!!

Above you can see several layers of ephemera cut out and layered under my photo. I have also made some gorgeous flowers using the Bitty Blossoms die I have in my stash and papers from the book kit.

I have twirled and tucked in the gorgeous Brown Dodo Vine Wire for some cool detail and added a Vintage Trinket: Cog.

I added a fun ticket cut out from the kit, and here you can see the masking misting and stamping I have added to my background. I thought the title "Skater Boys" worked well for this!!

Tucked in behind the photo cluster I have one of the tag cut outs from the kit and have added some journalling information. I attached the Filigree Oval Vintage Trinket to the tag to help pull it out and to add some gorgeous detail to the layout.

I had a great time putting this together and I hope that you enjoyed it!!
