Soar: A Layout for the C'est Magnfique October Kit

I'd love to share another layout from the C'est Magnifique October kit today. I called this one "Soar". My daughter is caught mid leap here and it looks like she is jumping from one mushroom to another lol!! Her ballet teacher had some photos done at the end of their term this past summer and I just had to buy a few. It shows my gorgeous daughter but also our beautiful village as well!

The layout features many items from the main kit: papers, butterfly, lace, ink, pearls, resins and wooden pieces! The die cuts, blue mist, chipboard, and alphas are from the Embellishment Add On, flowers from Flower Add On .

I had fun layering the masking, stamping and molding paste in the background, then adding in the gorgeous flowers and embellies from the kit.

I love how this turned out and if you are interested in purchasing the kit and add ons, head on over to the store!!!

Hide and Go Seek for Sugar Creek Hollow

This week our challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow is Hide and Go Seek! Make a vintage project and include a hidden item on it and join our challenge! Kerstin and Nina are our two guest designers for this challenge and you can also see their beautiful cards on the Sugar Creek Hollow blog.

As you can see, my hidden item was the tag with the sentiment on it! I tucked the tag in behind the vintage image and made it part of the design, pull it out and you find the secret message.  I added stitching around the edges, some gorgeous flowers and leaves from my stash and doily to finish the card off.

I had a great time doing this challenge and I love the way this card turned out.  I hope you will come join us in the challenge!!!

Show Your Style for La-La Land Crafts

This week at La-La Land Crafts the theme is Show Your StyleI used a lot of my favorite things: stitching, splashing, misting, masking and molding paste, stamping, twine and of course my La-La Land Crafts dies!

I love the sense of movement this layout has. I have used the Stitched Nested Circles  to make kind of a bubble effect to move across the page. Also fitting in with the soaring and moving theme is the Hot Air Balloon Die.

I used the Birds Die die cuts across the page as well. The photo shows my daughters high above the gorgeous Crater Lake and the balloon and birds help give the feeling of being on high above the beauty of our natural surroundings there.  I used the Water Lily Die to create just a few flowers to accent the layout this time and then added the fun arrow from the Stitched Elements set.

I added a twine circle to frame my girls in the photo, lots of masking misting and stamping for my backgrounds...splashes and drips help create the look as well... and as I often do I framed my page with some machine stitching. This really is a favorite layout of mine at the moment using lots of my favorite things and I hope you like it!!

Selfie

I am so happy to share my first layout I did using the gorgeous C'est Magnfique October Kit!! My  layout features a photo my daughter took of herself...She is growing up so fast, she looks so much older than her 11 years (nearly 12 she would say!) I had fun adding a film strip affect to the images. The layout features the main kit papers and gorgeous chippies, the key hole and alphas from the Embellishment Add On, flowers from Flower Add On and Magnifique Mixed Media kits and the stamp, stencil and butterflies as well that feature in the Magnifique Mixed Media kit.

From my stash I used Lindy's Stamp Gang Moonshadow Mist Smokey Sapphire to add the light brown background.

For the fun chipboards I used my Red Hot Poker Orange and some distress ink to age it a bit!  I only used two of the colors in the color pallette so not sure if it qualifies but would love to enter this into the September Color Challenge at Lindy's Stamp Gang.

I also used this gorgeous sketch from Scrap365 for my layout and would love to enter it into their October Sketch Challenge.

Rosemary

Hi friends!!  I love taking photos of my children, you see them all the time on my layouts!! But I am also lucky that I have an aunt on my mom's side that has kept track of an amazing wealth of ancestral photos for our family. I am using another one this month for my Meg's Garden layout, this time my own maternal grandmother, Rosemary Jones. This is her First Communion photo, I just love the big bow and ringlets in her hair, such a great photo!! I focused on the Correspondence Collection this time, using the gorgeous Correspondence Collection - A French Account 12 x 12 sheet, the Correspondence Collection - Mademoiselle Louise and Correspondence Collection - Cut & Create Correspondence 4x12 sheets. I love how you can use the smaller bonus sheets to build up layers on your projects!

Here you can see the flower cluster I created featuring the Chocolate Small RosesDusty Pink Poppy and Paper Lilies.  I added a fun Tim Holtz Pen Nib to the cluster to tie in with the cut out images I used from the Correspondence Collection - Cut & Create Correspondence sheet.

I love how this Large Rectangular Laser Frame looks after I have covered it in gesso for a base coat and then used my Walnut Stain and Victorian Velvet Distress Inks to color it. I wanted to have an aged look but also pick up the color of the Dusty Pink Poppy. I finished off the frame with a favorite script stamp in my stash.

Meg's Garden carries some amazing metal trinkets perfect for any project. Here you can see the Vintage Trinkets - Butterfly pieces I used to adorn the chipboard frame. I finished them off with a few pink pearls I had.

I hope you like heritage vintage layout I created. I think Meg's Garden papers and embellishments are perfect for heritage pages and beyond! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Fairy Whispers for La-La Land Crafts

This week at La-La Land Crafts the theme is Washi TapeI decided to use washi tape as a base for my two embellishment clusters, building up my layout on top of the designs... Naturally, I used a lot of my La-La Land Crafts dies!

Here you can see the several washi tape I layered. I then added some molding paste and masking as well as some mist, adding a gorgeous Prima resin topiary and some roses using the Rolled Rose Small & Medium . I added the butterfly using the Fancy Butterfly Die.

For my main photo cluster I chose a gorgeous vintage child image...I wanted to use the Fairy Whispers words in the paper as my title and thought this little girl could be a great fairy, so I added some wings to her using the Wings Set. To build up the layers under the photo I used the oval from the Stitched Elements Dies and the Heart Doily Border Die. I tucked in the sweet Steampunk Heart Cogs around the cluster to add detail. I used the Rolled Rose Large and the Rolled Rose Small & Medium dies to add some sweet delicate flowers to the layout and finished it with another butterfly from the Fancy Butterfly Die. I added stitching to both clusters on the layout and hope that I succeeded in the ethereal fairy like look for the layout!

I hope you enjoyed this layout and thank you so much for stopping by!!!

Word Play at Sugar Creek Hollow

This week our challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow is Word Play! Make a vintage project and include a sentiment and join our challenge!

I just love to search for new vintage images to use on the computer and when I saw this one I knew it would be perfect for the Word Play challenge and that the colors and image were just beautiful! I have a little basket with extra flowers, lace off cuts and other leftovers from projects and I always challenge myself to make my cards from this little basket of beauty!! I added the gorgeous Tim Holtz word key and butterfly flower from my metal embellie stash but the twine lace and flower all came from my basket! I added my standard stitching around the card base edge and the image.

I love the way this card turned out and I hope you will come join us in the challenge!!!

La-La Land September 2014 Release!

La-La Land is getting in the holiday mood this month with gorgeous Halloween and Christmas stamps and dies!! I am in love with all the amazing new holiday dies we have to play with!! They also have an amazing set of stitched circle nesting dies and another set of stitched elements to add to their dies.

Here is my Halloween layout, I had that creepy pumpkin vintage children image saved for ages and thought it was perfect to use!! I used a LOT of the La-La Land Halloween dies for this layouts and you can see in the large photo that I have used the Spider Web Corner die in all four corners.

Here you can see the newest dies, the SpiderWeb and Spider and Tombstones, which I have cut out in orange.  The Frightful Fence makes a great backdrop for the photo cluster and embellies.

I added the Pumpkins and Eerie Bats to build up the scene more and add detail. I used the Spider Web Border at the top and bottom of my photo mat as a perfect touch. A title and a few stickers here and there and I really like how the Halloween layout turned out!

My next layout features quite a number of the new Christmas dies! I decided to use the Stitched Nested Circles as ornament shapes and then used the different dies as a feature in each ornament.  To make my pine tree effect at the top of the layout I used the Cherry Blossom Branch die!

Here you can see the Christmas Tree Hill die all glittered up on the red Christmas ornament.  I really had fun using the Build A Snowman die to make my vintage looking snowman. He got glitter on all his snowy bits too!! I added a ribbon and some twin to make the ornament details.

My last two ornaments feature another glittery one using the gorgeous Snowflake Banner, then another ornament featuring both the Candy Cane and the Build a Tree die.

My layouts today are quite simple and show off the dies rather than any other mixed media I could add... I had a lot of fun thinking outside the box for these two layouts and using lots of my new dies and am really happy how they turned out!!

If you are interested in any of these gorgeous dies or the stamps shown above, please visit La-La Land Crafts store!!  Thanks so much for stopping by!!!
