Together: All About Mom Challenge for Berry71bleu

All About Mom - Pay tribute to your own mom or create a project based on your own thoughts & feelings about being a mom.

My layout is all about my wishes for my children, I have used some great quote stickers from 7 Dots Studio to share some of my hopes and wishes for my children: "dream without fear", "love without limits", "why stop dreaming?". I chose a photo of my girls and I much younger (and me much thinner!) and used gorgeous 7 Dots Studio paper.

Here you can see the gorgeous rectangular striped rectangle chippie and heart confetti I used from Um Wow Studio I also used a gorgeous Handmade flower from a Zeus and Zoe kit I purchased.

Another fun Zeus and Zoe jeweled embellishment here, along with some flowers from my stash and more Um Wow Studio heart confetti. I used a mask and some Shimmerz Texturez to add some texture to my layout. Behind the tag are a few private thoughts about motherhood and my two gorgeous girls. I hope you like it and will consider joining in with us these last few days of May!

2 2 Cute!

This week at La-La Land Crafts the theme is Use a Number! I went for a play on words for my layout, entitling it 2-2 Cute (aka Too Too Cute...aka the little ballerina tutu!)

I just love the cute image of this little ballerina! I have surrounded the photo in lace and pearls, accented by the Large Lacy Border die. I have inked my alphas and numbers to match in with my gorgeous Prima flowers and added a Fancy Butterfly and the Heart Scroll Corner Die to my flower cluster.

The Hot Air Balloon Die is always a favorite of mine and adds a whimsical touch to my layout and the cute little girl! For a final touch I added a bit of script stamping and some masking. I hope you like my layout this week!

Elegant Money Holder Card Tutorial for La-La Land Crafts

This week we have a Communion and a Confirmation to attend and I needed to make some simple flat cards and I wanted to find a fun way to store their monetary gift! I decided to figure out a way to make a money holder card using my La-La Land Crafts dies as the focus!

My card bases are 5.25" x 5.25", so I have cut out my first layer at 5" x 5". For both my cards I used nice elegant patterns and colors as I wanted to keep these clean and simple.

With plain white card I cut out the oval from the Stitched Elements Die for both cards.

To make a pocket to hold some cash couldn't be easier, simple use your foam tape to make a slot to hold money that can be inserted from the top. Just cover the foam tape on two sides and the bottom. This card is perfect for folded bills.

Using the sample of the cream colored Confirmation card, I cut out the Cross Set 1.

Since it is such a narrow die cut, I decided to use Fabri-tac to cover the die cut cross and adhere it to the oval. Center the oval die cut onto the square base and attach it with the foam tape.

For the second layer of the cross die cut I added more foam tape to give it extra dimension.

To add some simple but elegant detail to the card, I cut some of the Diamonds Lattice Border Die and the Stitched Ribbon Die in white card and added it to the background.

Here you can see where the money will be stashed! Simply and cleanly behind the oval die cut, I will let the parents know where to look if the gift is too well hidden!!!

To add a final detail to each card, I fussy cut an image and layered it on top of the crosses, a Communion image like above and a Confirmation cross. Two simple, elegant and practical cards using gorgeous La-La Land Crafts dies to celebrate some special occasions and give a little gift! I hope you like them!

Ballerina Dreams Layout

I just love the wooden texture of this paper from Vintage Venture, so dark and earthy! I thought it would be a great dramatic background for my vintage ballerina.

I chose the colors for my layout based on the photo of the ballerina, yellows and blues! I used some Fall Flea Market paper as a layer tucked in under my photo and the fun Prima wooden doors. Here you can see many Prima flowers decorating my layout. I have added a gorgeous cutout from the Tailgate Marked Collection.  I titled the layout Ballerina Dreams.

Here you can see where I have used the Fall Flea Market paper to make a gorgeous lattice doily die cut, I thought it echoed the garland the ballerina was holding! I used some corrugated cardboard to add texture and dimension, For a finishing touch I splatted some blue paint and also did some splashing!

Communion and Confirmation Cards for La-La Land Crafts

This week at La-La Land Crafts the theme is Fussy Cutting. We have a Communion and a Confirmation to attend soon and I knew it was the perfect time to use the new cross dies.

For the card on the left I used Cross Set 1, I love the Celtic type look to this one! I used this to create my confirmation card, cutting out the Confirmation symbol and cross to layer on top.  I set the crosses on top of the oval from the Stitched Elements Die.  For the background I used the Diamonds Lattice Border Die and the Stitched Ribbon Die to an extra layer of design to my clean and simple cards.

For the Communion card on the right, again I fussy cut out an appropriate image. I used the striking Cross Set 2 for my crosses here, again layering it with the oval from the Stitched Elements Die and this time just using the Lattice Border Die as part of my design. These cards are very clean but I think they are effective for the occasions they are for.

They also hide a secret! It is a useful card, one I will do a tutorial for tomorrow!

Sweet Girl

This week at La-La Land Crafts the theme is Photo Inspiration.
Here is the photo we used for inspiration:

Very bright and out of my comfort zone, but I gave it my best!!

I used this fun photo of my daughter eating some rock candy. I turned the photo black and white except for the candy, had a lot of fun doing it!!  In the photo above you can see lots of La-La Land dies!!  Tucked under the photo I used the Honeycomb die. I added some gorgeous Prima flowers and tucked in the Berry Flourish

I added some Stitched Zigzags for a bright graphic effect, then tucked in the Steampunk Heart Cogs die under the photo. Very bright but I hope you like the layout! I named it "Sweet Girl" for my sweet daughter who loves eating sweets!!

Smile and Be Happy

Hi! Back again with another layout using the gorgeous Vintage Venture papers! Last time I went for a really modern grungy look and this week I am back to romantic! I love how versatile this collection can be.

I have used the paper Blossoms from the Vintage Venture collection and also some postcard cut outs. I used a selfie my daughter took, her selfies always look ten times better than anything I could take of her, so it is great!!! She is looking so grown up these days. Sigh.

I used a Riddersholm cut out for my title: Smile and Be Happy and have also used a gorgeous birdcage from Wycinaka. I have some masking using my Shimmerz Texturez in Crushed Coral.

I used a gorgeous Prima vine from my stash and added an Ink It blossom in the middle for a delicate look.

I hope you like my layout this week. There are lots of beautiful papers and gorgeous products in the Riddersholm Designs Store, come have a look!!

For a Special Lady

This week at La-La Land Crafts the theme is For A Special Lady! I have featured many of the new dies again, so many creative ways to use them.

Here you can see the Yin Yang border  tucked in under the photo, it makes a lovely lacy texture. I have also taken to using the Heart Scroll Corners as my favorite leafy type flourish, not the typical way to use it but I think it works effectively!!

I have used the Love die from the Hanging Hearts and Love word die set here again...works well for simply titles on layouts!  I have also used the Diamonds Lattice Border  as a structural element under the photos to bring the line across the page...it works well with the flowers in the layout. You can see the Peace Heart die tucked in here and the Yin Yang and Flower dies in the photo above, all from the Groovy Elements set, they are great for tucking into flower clusters!

Finally here you can see the gorgeous flowers I used, my masking, splats and stamping details and of course a favorite standby die, the Fancy Butterfly.

I always love finding fun creative ways to use the La-La Land dies in my layouts, I hope you like this weeks page!!
