My final post for Blue Fern Studios!

I can't believe a year has flown by and it is time to finish my term here at Blue Fern Studios!! I have loved working with the amazing products and my talented fellow team members.  I am so grateful for the wonderful opportunity to design here!!  For my last post here I have made two layouts and set of cards.

My first layout features the gorgeous Vintage Christmas collection Wonderland paper. I decided to do a snowy layout and just love these colors! I chose a gorgeous wintry vintage image of a family gathering pine boughs for the holidays.

Here in this first close up I have added some layers under the photo using the Vintage Christmas 2 Calling Cards cutouts. I love the Snowflake Frame which I have embossed with Imagine Ink Icicle Embossing Powder. I've added a snowflake from the Shabby Flakes collection which has been embossed with Icicle and Cotton Candy Imagine Ink Embossing Powder.

In this photo you can see how I've used several background stamps to build up texture. I have used the Making Plans stamp, the Crackle Textures stamp and the Coarse Fabrics stamps using various distress inks. I also edged  my chipboard with Festive Berries Distress Ink to tie into the colors of the paper.

I've used some gorgeous flowers on this layout, the beautiful red Christmas Bloom and pink Soft Blossoms. For the title of my layout I used the Wonder chipboard from the Wish Wonder Dream set, and again used Icicle Imagine Ink Embossing Powder

My next project is a set of cards using both sides of the Vintage Christmas 2 Jolly paper. I always love to use the Calling Cards page with its gorgeous cutouts and images to make a set of cards when I can.

In my first card I used the beautiful Holiday Deer chipboard piece, embossed in Antique Gold Imagine Ink Embossing Powder. The Yours and Mine at Christmas Time actually came from the branding strip at the bottom of one of the papers!  The red and aqua flowers are part of the Christmas Blooms set while the white one is from the Soft Blooms set.  To finish off the card I used some ribbon from my stash and sewed in brown around the edge of the card.

I love the image on my next card, so much fun! I have added the Christmas Cheer sentiment from the Calling Cards paper as well.  Underneath my image I have added a bit of twine from my stash. The beautiful snowflakes are from the Let it Snow set, embossed appropriately in the Snow Imagine Ink Embossing Powder! The red flower is from the Memoires Blooms and the brown lilies are from the Winter Lilies set.  Again, I have finished off the card with some brown stitching along the edges.

For my final card, I've used the other side of the Jolly paper for the background and some papers from the Calling Cards sheet again.  The flowers are both from the Christmas Blooms set.  The foliage chipboard is from the Layering Stems set and is embossed in Sage Imagine Ink Embossing Powder. I have added some ribbon and a small pine cone from my stash and stitched along the edge to finish it off.

My final layout for Blue Fern Studios features another vintage image and the gorgeous Vintage Christmas Let it Snow paper as its base.

In this first close up you can see the beautiful Ruth's Doily peeking out from under the photo cluster, embossed in Golden Bricks Imagine Ink Embossing Powder. I have used more of the Calling Cards cutouts tucked underneath the image to build up the layers.

I have again used more of the beautiful red Christmas Blooms flower and the chocolate brown Late Winter Lilies as my flower cluster.  I have used a Mini Flourish chipboard embossed in the Pyrite Image Ink Embossing Powder as a finishing touch on the photo cluster.

The Night Before Christmas chipboard piece has been embossed in Ruby Imagine Ink Embossing Powder and you can see the background stamping I have done featuring stamps from the Forever, Essential Textures, and Texture Circles sets.  I finished off this cluster with another Late Winter Lily.

Card Set with the Claudia Scrappery Kits

Every month I use the generous kits to make several layouts and project life spreads, planner goodies and planner spreads and I always like to add a set of a few cards! This month I decided to make four cards using the gorgeous Indigo Hills collection by Pinkfresh Studios featured in our Claudia kits!

For this first card I kept it super simple, adding just the Love resin from the main scrapbooking kit "The Scrappery Kit" (TSK).  The wood veneer hearts are gorgeous and from J. Corbett Creations and they are in the Bits and Pieces Kit (BPK).  I added the cardstock sticker #neverfail from the Pretty Little Kit (PLK). To finish off this card I added some yellow stitching.

For my second card I used some printables from Claudia van Rooijen for the Claudia kits!! I fussy cut the camera and added the boxes graphic underneath it from her ephemera sheet.  I again added some heart wood veneers and a sticker from the PLK. I did a simple navy stitched frame around the card to complete the card.

For this card I used a doily that Ronelle had included in the main TSK. The tag is from the ephemera sheet in the printables. I love using lots of little embellishments when I can and this card has tons!! The chipboard hearts are from the TSK as well and Embrace wood veneer and puffy stickers are from the PLK. The word ephemera and the heart veneers are from the BPK.  I added a double line of stitching to frame the card and finish it off.

For my final card I did a lot of layering, using a tag Ronelle included in the main scrapbooking Pretty Little Pieces set. I layered it on top a striped paper from Claudia's Project Life card printouts. The sentiment is a cardstock sticker from the PLK as well as the puffy sticker flower. The rubber "love" sticker and the chipboard hearts are from the main scrapbooking kit TSK. I finished this card off again in the yellow thread.

I hope you enjoyed seeing another way to use your kits. The cards are a great way to use all those amazing embellishments that the kits are full of!  Thanks so much for visiting and you can sign up for any of these monthly kits HERE.

6x12 layouts and Project Life Spread for the Claudia Kit at the Scrappery!

I'd love to share with you this week two 6x12 layouts and accompanying Project Life Spreads that I have made with the gorgeous Claudia Scrappery kits!  These kits are full of goodies from Pinkfresh Studios Indigo Hill range and lots of amazing extras put together by Ronelle, our fearless and talented leader/kit club owner!  My daughter got her first character role with a production her youth ballet did in October, the Dormouse in a modern version of Alice in Wonderland!  I did this first layout with a photo of her her as the maid/dormouse with Alice, I thought it was such a pretty photo and wanted to get her in both her costumes (you can't see it in the photo too well but the maid still has her mouse nose and whiskers and her tail!).

I absolutely love this paper with the half circles, so elegant and fun at the same time. In this close up yu can see some of the splashes I did and a lot of layers made with Project Life cards, tabs and papers from Indigo Hills.  I love the wooden clips included in the Bits and Pieces Kit (BPK) and I added one here to my layers. You can also see some of the ephemera and a wooden heart from J. Corbett Creations wood veneers. The veneers, the floral washi tape and the ephemera can also be found in the Bits and Pieces Kit!

Here you can get a good closeup of the photo along with more wood clips which I cut down to be embellishments by snipping off the clip parts! The beautiful die cut is from the Ephemera packet and here you can see lots of sequins and chipboard hearts being used from the Scrappery Kit (TSK) the main kit.

In my final close up of the layout you can see the pompom trim I added from the main Scrappery Kit and the You are capable of amazing things comes from the ephemera pack in the BPK.

Here is how my Project Life spread and the layout look together in my album, I added a bit of the wide washi from the Bits and Pieces kit to finish off the look:

I really enjoyed adding in the tickets from the show and some more action shots of my daughter performing. Once upon a time she was quite shy onstage, she was Alice in her schools own production and while she danced that at age 11 just fine, she wasn't embracing and acting out the role, whereas she really took on this character now at 13 with a great deal of enjoyment! It was great to see her really perform onstage. She has been in love with dance since she was 8 and dancing since she was 4, she eats sleeps and breathes it!

Here is a closeup of the pocket that held the tickets we kept. It was great to have these as part of the memory keeping. I used my tiny attacher to staple the tickets onto the paper and then used alphas from all three kits to make my title!

I love this rubber charm that says hello today, so I kept that pocket simple and just used one of the Project Life 3x4 papers as a background and added the rubber tag.  The photo of Aine and her friend is great, they look like they are having so much fun! I thought the wooden Fun shape from the Pretty Little Kit (PLK) was perfect for this photo pocket and the ephemera from the collection "hmmm.... YES!" they both seemed to fit perfectly.

My daughter seems to be defying gravity in this photo. I added a fun collage with a chipboard heart and rubber charm from the main Scrappery Kit and the ephemera piece "enjoy" from the BPK. I really do heart this one!! I finished off the collage with more staples from my tiny attacher.

Thank goodness for my daughter's ballet company taking loads of photos, I have become worse at documenting our kids lives as they've gotten older. My youngest especially refuses at most times to even let me take her photo. Luckily the ballerina isn't camera shy so I can usually find some photos to document.  Macnas is a parade here in Ireland, very interactive with lots of performers and large papier mache type creatures...it is always at Halloween time and her youth ballet company are always part of it.  She was chosen this year to do the parade both in Galway where their company is based and in the capital city, Dublin, she and her fellow dancers were a pack of wolves and I just love how the photos turned out!!

In this first close up you can see I used the yellow doily from the TSK main kit as the base of my photo cluster. I tucked in a few bits of paper scraps under the photo and added another wooden clip. YOu can also see the gold glittery title  I made using Thickers from the main kit.

Here you can see the twine I used from the Pretty Little Kit's Pretty Little Pieces set, which also includes the sequins added here. I added some ephemera and and more chipboard hearts to add detail. Look at my baby girls leg, goodness me, how does it get up that high!

I finished off the layout with the "every day has a story" ephemera piece and the moments captured with love.

Here is how the layout and Project Life page fit together. I love these photos. The girls seems to be having a great time interacting with the crowds.I added some of the blue washi from the main kit to holes area again.

It took a while to confirm, but the shoes and the red hair make this definitely a photo of my daughter! I love the smiles on the girls faces she is interacting with!  I've used another wood veneer here from J. Corbett Creations, a wooden hear, chipboard heart and some sequins. I love the ephemera piece "this way for cool vibes".

On the left I selected a great photo from the parade of one of the Papier Mache creatures. You can see the little boy in the bottom of the photo to get perspective on how amazing these creatures were.  I added the "fun" resin piece to this phot and a half circle ephemera piece, adding a few staples from my tiny attacher. The next 3x4 pocket used a piece of paper from the PLK and a rubber sticker from the main kit. I added a bit of journaling here about the performances. Aine wasn't chosen for any extra performing opportunities last year and she really wanted to do this one. She was so proud of her herself for auditioning and getting the chance to do this. Well done my little girl!

I love my final photo in the spread, all the wolves that made their way to Dublin for the second night's performance. The grey resin piece that says memories fit perfect, as well as the "amazing" wood veneer. I used a a label made by Claudia Van Rooijen for our kits to add the location and date stamping.

There are still a few of the kits available in the shop you can find them here: http://the-scrappery-kit-club.myshopify.com/collections/all/current-kits.

November Inspiration with Blue Fern Studios

Hello again scrappy friends!! I can't believe how fast this year has flown by, how is it November already??  This month I have some project to share from the gorgeous new Memoires collection.  My first project I feature another photo found on my iPad courtesy of my eldest selfie taking daughter! As they have gotten older, I find I am much worse about capturing them in photos and it is something I need to improve, thank goodness for one daughter who loves to take photos of herself which I promptly co-opt for my layouts and Project Life!!

For my first layout I chose the Remember When paper as my base. I used some layers underneath my photos from the Calling Cards paper and the Tales of Treasure paper.

Here in this close up you can see the beautiful Memoires Blooms and Lilies cluster on Jasmine Collage and the Dream chipboard.  For the Jasmine Collage I used the Melon Imagine Ink Embossing Powder and for the Dream chipboard I used the Buttercup Imagine Ink Embossing Powder.

On this photo you see another Memoires Bloom I used as well as some background stamping using the  Scratched and Crackle Textures stamps.

To frame my layout I finished it off with the gorgeous Manor Hinges chipboard embossed in the 14 Karat Imagine Ink Embossing Powder.

For my second layout I chose a gorgeous turn of the century photo of a Parisian model. I thought it went perfectly with the beautiful Photographic Record paper. Clustered underneath my photos I again had the beautiful Calling Cards cutouts and the Tales of Treasures paper. My title in the bottom corner is inoubliable chipboard from the French Words set, the French word "Unforgettable" which was embossed in the 14 Karat Imagine Ink Embossing Powder.

Here in this photo you can see the beautiful Spring in Paris chipboard which I have also embossed in the 14 Karat Imagine Ink Embossing Powder.  The embossing powder did not cover the chipboard perfectly and instead of trying for perfect coverage I left it a bit distressed and added some Black Soot Distress Ink.  Here you can also see the fleur de lis shaped hinge from the Manor Hinges set, perfect for this layout!! I added some metallic pearls to finish off the chipboard along with the 14 Karat Imagine Ink Embossing Powder.  I added a few Lilies to the layout for some gorgeous detail.

I used several sets of stamps to build up my background: Grungy Grid, Texture 1 and Coarse Fabrics. I also added some brown and blue splashes from mists in my stash.

Here you can see more background stamping, splashing and a bit of texture tucked in with the Mesh Bits pieces embossed in Frozen Imagine Ink Embossing Powder.

For my next project I made a set of cards.  This collection had an awesome sheet perfect for cardmakers: Grand Sequel.  The back side of this paper had a collage of four of the sheets from the collection in 6x6 size!!

I just love this idea!! I was able to use the smaller sizes of these designs for gorgeous card backgrounds.

For my first card I fussy cut the typewriter from the Chronicles paper.  I added a Memoires Bloom and Attic Charm Daisy to the card and tucked in some Bits of Honey pieces embossed in 14 Karat Imagine Ink Embossing Powder.  The golden typewriter font letters saying hello and the stitching finished off this card.

I always love to make cards using vintage images I find.  I added some twine and a doily under this image and some beautiful Blue Fern Lilies to this card. I added the gorgeous flower from the Layering Stems chipboard set and embossed it in Raspberry Imagine Ink Embossing Powder. Again I finished off the card with stitching and it was done!

For my final card I found this adorable vintage girl image. I tucked in some paper and this fussy cut bird/watch image from the Calling Cards paper.  The leaves are from the Layering Stems set and are embossed in Sage Imagine Ink Embossing Powder to match the green in the girls dress and hair ribbon.  A little bit of stitching around the card finishes off this set.

October Projects for Blue Fern Studios

This month I wanted to do some more autumn themed layouts, because, well, I am in love with the autumn season, the colors, the leaves, everything... And of course I love the Blue Fern Studios Autumn Anthology and knew it needed to be used for this season!!

My first layout features my eldest Aine a few years back with an autumnal backdrop. Her red hair is always great for autumn layouts too!! For the base of the layout I used the gorgeous Penmanship paper. I just love the illustrations, a mixture of gorgeous fall flowers and mushrooms and fountain pens and vintage illustrations!  I always find the Calling Cards cutouts perfect for layering under my photos and the back side of the calling cards was just as gorgeous as the cut out images.

Here you can see the I Think You're Wonderful and Circle Flourish- Small chipboards embossed in the Tangerine Imagine Ink Embossing Powder.

I chose some beautiful peach colored Attic Charm Daisies and Courtship Blooms in dark brown to add to my layout. In the background you can see the splashes of ink and stamping I added to the layout using the Halftone stamp set, the Making Plans Stamp and the Essential Textures stamp set. I love the extra depth and texture stamping can give.

In my final photo here you can see the Turkish Bits chipboard I tucked in under the photo cluster. I used the gorgeous Amethyst Imagine Ink Embossing Powder to add a gorgeous color to it.

I went for a mix of modern and vintage for this layout. I had this great photo of my girls and some friends from years back and there are some adorable smiles in this photo, so of course it had to have the Million Dollar Smile as it title!  The paper I used here for the base is the flip side of the same paper above, Penmanship. I loved both sides so had to use both my papers this time!!

Here you can see I used the Million Dollar Smile for the title of my layout, embossing it and the Captured arrow chipboard from the Picture Perfect set in the beautiful Sea Mist Imagine Ink Embossing Powder.

Here you can see the Calling Cards cutouts I layered under the photo, as well as the splashing and stamping I did in the background using the Forever stamp set.  I cut a piece down from the smaller Film Strip chipboard set and embossed it in Melon Imagine Ink Embossing Powder.

In my final photo for this layout you can see the big Film Strip accent I added again in the Melon Imagine Ink Embossing Powder, along with the beautiful orange Tranquil Bloom and aqua colored Spring Lily.

For my final layout I used the beautiful Timeless collection. The base paper is the beautiful Papillon paper. My eldest as you might have guessed from past months, loves to dance, so  it won't surprise you to see another photo of her and her friends in swan gear this time! Such a lovely photo captured, I just had to scrap it, my girl is the second from the right lol.

For the title of my page I used the Dreams Come True chipboard.  The photo is clustered yet again on the top of the always perfect Calling Cards cutouts used for layering behind the photo. Here you can see a good view of the mixed media background I did using mist splatters, watercolors, molding paste and masking and lots of stamps including the Making Plans, Forever and Essential Textures stamps.

The flowers I included in the layout are the Attic Charm Daisies, Courtship Blooms and Harvest Lilies, so beautiful!

In this photo you can see the Tattered Diamond Bits and Royal Monarch chipboard. The diamonds have been embossed in the Oatmeal Imagine Ink Embossing Powder while the butterfly has been embossed with the Cotton Candy Imagine Ink Embossing Powder and the edges have been additionally embossed in 14 Karat Imagine Ink Embossing Powder.
