Dreaming of Summer with Riddersholm Newport Papers

Last project I did for Riddersholm used the pastel pink shades in the Newport collection for a spring theme! Today I used the gorgeous beachy Shells paper from the collection with my favorite blues, browns and grays. I absolutely love how my tag and card turned out!

For the tag, I cut out the shape and inked the edges. I also sewed in dark gray thread around the edge of the tag. I fussy cut the compass shape from the paper, again inking the edges.

I love the colors of the Prima flowers I used on these project this week, they match so well with the papers! I added some thick netting to fit the beach theme!

Of course I had to tuck in some shells, and also added a cut out title to the tag, Stay Calm and listen to the waves!  I also added in some Wycinaka chipboard grasses.

Here you can see where I added some splashes done with Shimmerz Texturez and a stencil. I finished off the tag with a lot of gorgeous ribbons and lace found in the shop!

My card also uses the gorgeous Shells paper.Again I added gray stitching to the edge of the card.

I built up the card starting with the gorgeous neutral flowers from Prima in gray and black. I added some shells into the cluster and the gorgeous thick netting.

I tucked in a few more white flowers, added some cutout pieces to the card and added my favorite script stamp to the background.

I hope you like my tag and card set, they are some of my favorite pieces for the year.  Have a look at the gorgeous Newport Collection it is so versatile!

March Challenge at Berry71bleu

It is definitely starting to feel like spring here in Ireland and I have been totally inspired by Tusia's gorgeous moodboard to create some lovely spring like pastel cards!! I took the colors and the shapes of the flowers and added some butterflies all from the moodboard below:

Here is my first card.

I just love all the 7 Dots papers, but the gorgeous Illumination collection is PERFECT for spring! I love the soft muted pastel colors!  I also used a sticker from the Soulmates collection for this!  I had some Prima flowers and vines from my stash that worked perfectly and added a beautiful butterfly from Reneabouquet. I finished off the card with some stitching along the edges.

My second card also features the Illumination paper and the sticker from the Soulmates collection.  I chose another Prima flower and vine and Reneabouquet butterfly to match the moodboard. These two cards in the set work great together and I think follow the moodboard well!!  Will you join us for this challenge and make your own gorgeous spring colored projects??

Spring Inspiration with Riddershlom Newport Papers

Spring is coming and Easter is on the way, so I wanted to share the gorgeous pink pastel papers in the Newport collection! I have chosen a sweet photo of my eldest when she was little, on a nature walk we did one spring afternoon many years ago! I chose for my base page the beautiful Breeze paper, so soft and beautiful!

I just love using the cutouts from the collections and this layout is no different. You can see some tags and pieces I used and some of the butterflies I cut out from the papers too!. I made some small blooms using the papers from the collection as well.

I love adding the Riddersholm Glitter Glass to a layout for some extra texture. Here you can see lots of the stitching, misting, splashing and stamping I have done too. I just love the ivy vine I found in my stash, added a great touch to the woodland photo!

Here you can see a few layers of the Postcard paper, which is the same paper I used to make my pretty little rolled blossoms. Finally, after adding more flowers and vines, tags and stamping to my layout, I finished it off with a title chipboard from Wycinaka: Sweet Love.

I had a great time working with layers and mixed media for this layout and I hope you like it! It was great to get out some of my favorite stamps and just have fun.

Thanks so much for visiting!

March Blue Fern Studios Projects!

Last week I shared my March Blue Fern Studios layout for their amazing sketch challenge, so today I would love to share my other March projects with you!

My first project is a layout using the beautiful Courtship Lane papers. I just love the colors and designs in this new collection, vintage but fresh and spring like too with the gorgeous images and colors. I used the beautiful Lover's Lane paper as my base and both sides of the Main Street paper to build up my layers.

In this first closeup you can see the Turkish Bits chipboard. I colored this randomly for a distressed look with the gorgeous Imagine Ink Mystic Plum embossing powder.

I used stamps from the Forever stamp set in Seedless Preserves Distress Ink to give some great texture to my backgrounds. I also stamped a doily from the Weathered Doilies set in Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I used many flowers from my stash here and some fun piles of twine for texture.

At the bottom right of my layout I used several paper layers and the Amour chipboard from the French Words set.  I embossed this in Imagine Ink Mystic Plum embossing powder again. Here you can see more of my stamping and some splashing to pick up the purple.

In my main flower cluster I had a great time coloring the beautiful Symphony Corner chipboard piece. I added a mixture of Ginger Imagine Ink embossing powder and the Mystic Plum. I just love the look it gives!! The flowers are from my stash and build up the vintage colors in the papers and image. I added little bark heart from my stash to finish it off. This is one of my favorite layouts I have made lately, just love the unusual mix of colors inspired by this paper!

For my other March project I did a set of cards using the Montage paper collection. So bright and cheerful, I just love how these cards turned out.

I just love using the Calling Card and Bouquet papers to add details to these cards. For my first card I have used the Sweet sentiment from the Bouquet paper. The teacup is fussy cut from the Calling Cards paper. I have used two layers from the Invitation and Society papers from the collection. I have embossed the Leafy Bough chipboard in Imagine Ink Grassy Knoll and finished off the card with flowers from my stash and some stitching. I have stamped a bit of texture onto the card using the Essential Textures net stamp.

My second card features the Bouquet paper sentiment and the Now and Then and Wisdom papers. I layered them and added some stitching, flowers and a twine bow around my sentiment. To finish the card off I used a gorgeous Brigitte Butterfly embossed in the gorgeous Imagine Ink Oatmeal embossing powder.

For my final card I have used the Fairyland paper which I have stitched and stamped with the Essential Textures stamp set. I have layered lots of flowers from my stash and added some twine loops. My sentiment is from the Bouquet paper and I have added a beautiful chipboard heart from the Heart Set embossed in Imagine Ink Dusty Rose embossing powder.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog. I hope you like the projects I have done for Blue Fern Studios this month, stop by and have a look at the beautiful new collection Courtship Lane. Everlasting Love: March Sketch Challenge at Blue Fern Studios

It is March and that means spring will be here soon! I really hope so as it has been raining for days here!! Since it is a new month it is also time for a new sketch over at Blue Fern Studios!! This month my layout features the beautiful new collection Courtship Lane.

Here is the beautiful sketch for March:

And here is the beautiful new Courtship Lane collection ****COMING SOON*****

Here you can see a close up where I used the gorgeous Imagine Ink Dusty Rose glitter through a mask using gel medium to adhere it to the layout through the mask. I chose some yummy flowers from my stash.

I used the Everlasting Love chipboard as my title, embossing it with the Imagine Ink Verdant embossing powder.  I have also tucked in some of the Mesh Bits texture chipboard to add some interest to the background of my layout. I embossed them with the really distressed looking Imagine Ink Oatmeal embossing powder.

I added some metal butterflies as well as a chipboard Royal Monarch butterfly which is covered again in the Imagine Ink Dusty Rose glitter. Here you can see several Calling Card pieces from the collection tucked in under my image. I finished off my layout with a cute little paper clip on the photo, been loving those lately on my cards and layouts.

The challenge is on all month, so come on over to Blue Fern Studios and join in for your chance to win some chipboard!!
